Resources for Nonprofits During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The shutdown of communal life to slow the spread of COVID-19 has created challenges for society that few of us have ever faced. Nonprofits are being affected in many different ways.
MCF continues to work to provide support for the organizations in our community, switching to proactive grantmaking in 2020 to support organizations working to mitigate the pandemic's effects in our community, and helping organizations apply for relief funding under the federal Paycheck Protection Program, among other efforts. In addition, MCF has created the MCF COVID-19 Priority Fund to help support the unanticipated needs of many organizations, including those operating in the arts, environment, and other fields.

Helping Nonprofits Apply for Aid
MCF has contracted with Scholz Nonprofit Law to help nonprofits learn more about, and apply for, federal and state aid. In the first webinar, lawyers with Scholz Nonprofit Law outlined options for 501(c)(3) employers and employees to address financial issues during the pandemic, including loans, grants and payroll tax options under the CARES Act, as well as expanded unemployment options under FFCRA. Subsequent webinars provide updates and cover loan forgiveness requirements and other available programs.
