Taking Steps in the Right Direction

Dear Friends,

The tragic events in Charlottesville again remind us that we are further from our destination of equity and equality—across all forms and expressions of humanity—than many of us hoped.

We believe there are positive steps we can take to foster tolerance in our own community. We hope you will join us by taking a step—maybe it’s a first step or maybe it’s simply another step in your personal journey—to move our community forward.

For those who wish to be part of communitywide actions, here are a few upcoming opportunities in our area that support tolerance, racial justice and community safety for all:

Sunday, August 20: OutReach Pride Parade / Rally

Saturday, August 26: Walk Against Violence / Save the Children March

October 3-4: YWCA Madison Racial Justice Summit

It may be only one step in a very long journey, but it will surely be in the right direction. Join us.

Sincerely,

Bob Sorge
