Meet Kate Moser

The MCF team is growing quickly, and Kate Moser is one of our newest staff members. Kate joined MCF in September as our Accounting Director.

As Accounting Director, Kate helps ensure MCF’s financial health and integrity. “I help calculate how much MCF has available each year for its grant programs, and how much our fundholders have available for distribution under our annual distribution policy,” Kate explained. “I also help prepare reports to our fundholders and answer questions about their funds.” Kate’s role is essential to measuring MCF’s long term growth and success.

Although Kate has a long history of working in accounting, this is her first experience at a nonprofit. She is thrilled for this shift in focus. “I’m so excited to be a part of an organization that is working to better the community,” Kate commented.

Kate is a Madison native and has a deep appreciation for this city and its vibrant community. “I love that we have so much to offer,” Kate stated. “We have great restaurants, art, sports and outdoor activities but still have a small-town feel.”

She is also grateful to be near her family and long-time friends. “I am very lucky that my parents live close to me and my brother, who is a teacher, is also in the Madison area,” Kate explained. Kate also gets to play the role of bonus Auntie for her close friends’ kids. “It’s so fun to be a part of watching them grow up and take them on fun adventures,” Kate commented.

Outside of work, Kate’s four-year-old pup, Lucy, keeps her busy. She enjoys taking Lucy to explore the many parks Madison has to offer. Kate also enjoys hosting dinner parties for her friends. “To me a kitchen full of good food, wine and laughter makes the perfect evening.”
