Altrusa International of Madison, Inc.
Altrusa International of Madison, Inc. is a women’s service club that has provided direct service and funding for community organizations since it was established in 1923.
Altrusa started an Advised Fund at Madison Community Foundation in 1986 to further its aim of providing service to the community. Ideal candidates for Altrusa funding are projects that support literacy and education.
Altrusa is interested in projects that will:
- Help children and youth meet their full educational potential
- Expand opportunities for people returning to school or the workforce or for retraining
- Assist people in succeeding in school so that they are able to be self-supporting
- Foster parental involvement with their children's schooling
- Focus on lifelong learning
Guidelines
The Altrusa Fund considers grant requests from $1,000 to $10,000. The average grant is $1,200.
Two copies of the application, one electronic (emailed by 2/1) and one signed hard copy (postmarked by 2/1), must be submitted on or before the application deadline.
The electronic copy of the application should include the name of your organization in the subject of your email and be sent to Tom Linfield at grants@madisongives.org.
The signed hard copy of the application should be sent to:

Timeline
The Grant application deadline is February 1. Grant announcements are made in writing by March 31 of each year. Grant recipients may be asked to make a brief presentation about the project to Altrusa International of Madison.
