Community Impact Arts & Culture Grant Examples

Madison Community Foundation awards Community Impact grants to fund a range of arts and cultural projects intended to build and support Dane County's vibrant arts scene. 

Women Artists Forward Fund

$15,000 for Women Artists Forward Fund, a new arts endowment fund that will recognize and support outstanding women artists in the Madison area through yearly unrestricted grants to an established and an emerging woman artist.

Madison Circus Space

$50,000 toward a capital campaign for a state-of-the-art performance space to increase capacity for teaching and performing circus arts, and foster arts entrepreneurship.

Madison Children’s Museum

$45,000 for the MCM Roadshow, to expand outreach and bring educational play into communities across Madison and Dane County.

Madison Symphony Orchestra

$30,000 to expand from six to 12 schools the Up Close and Musical program, an award‑winning in-school residency program that brings a professional string quartet into K-3 classrooms.

Madison Youth Arts Center

$500,000 for the construction of a new youth arts center to provide programming and performance space for youth arts organizations.

Monroe Street Arts Center

$30,000 for the Building Madison’s Creative Future capital campaign to double the available space and increase resources and expand programming for both youth and seniors. Includes funding to pilot online and video art lessons.

Madison Museum of Contemporary Art

$30,000 to provide digital access to the museum’s collection of Mexican Modernist art, and to develop programming to celebrate Mexican art and culture and develop meaningful connections with Madison’s Latinx community.

Dane Arts Mural Arts

$25,000 for a pilot arts project designed to become an ongoing public mural program. Project leaders will train community artists in the process of creating community murals and partner in multiple communities using the arts as the tool to address urban decay, community engagement, and youth self-affirmation.

Overture Center

1:1 challenge grant of $35,000 to restore the 90-year-old Grand Barton Organ built in Oshkosh and housed in the Capitol Theater, its original and only home.

Arts + Literature Laboratory

$25,000 for a capital campaign to fund Arts + Literature Laboratory’s new space in the Capitol East neighborhood.
