MCF Grantmaking for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

MCF’s mission is to enhance the common good through philanthropy. Its vision is for greater Madison to be a vibrant and generous place where all people thrive.

Grants from MCF's Community Impact Fund -- our largest source of discretionary funds -- are a key tool we use to help us achieve our vision for the greater Madison area and improve diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in our community. Over the last three years (2017-2019), we awarded $3.324 million in grants from the Community Impact Fund, $2.596 million of which were grants related to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. (Note: approximately $800,000 awarded was pledged from future years).

This list does not include grants provided for basic needs (such as food pantries) or those that came from Field of Interest Funds (such as A Fund for Women).
